Youth project volunteers

Kirkcudbright Youth Project is looking for a couple of enthusiastic adult volunteers to help at the junior sessions on some Wednesday nights 6pm – 7:30pm. We have a fantastic group of young people aged 9 – 13 and as our member numbers have increased, we are looking for some volunteers to help supervise the young people and join in with activities where possible, alongside youth work staff. Please note, the new volunteer/s would NOT be required at every session (unless desired by the volunteer!), as the volunteer would primarily be stepping in when staff are ill or unavailable.

We currently meet at the Scout Hall, behind St Cuthbert’s Church and occasionally during winter months we run a sports session from the Kirkcudbright Primary School Hall.

All volunteers MUST be registered on the PVG scheme and be checked. We can organise this via our PVG scheme and there will be no cost to the volunteer/s. All costs incurred through volunteering will be reimbursed to the volunteer/s.
Preferably, volunteer/s will have experience of working or volunteering with children and young people in a youth club or school environment, but this is not essential as we will help you along the way. Most importantly the new volunteer/s must enjoy working with young people, be non-judgemental, understanding and enthusiastic!
